Roku and IPTV

How to Watch IPTV (M3U or Xtream Codes) on Roku

Roku doesn’t natively support M3U URLs or Xtream Codes, but here are some workarounds you can use to stream IPTV content on your Roku device.

1. Using Plex Media Server

  1. Install the Plex Media Server on your computer. You can download it from the official Plex website.
  2. Add your M3U URL or Xtream Codes using third-party IPTV plugins like CCloud TV that work with Plex.
  3. Install the Plex app on your Roku by going to the Roku Channel Store and searching for "Plex."
  4. Stream IPTV channels via Plex from your computer to Roku.

2. Screen Mirroring from Smartphone or PC

From Android Device:

  1. Download and install an IPTV app like IPTV Smarters, TiviMate, or Perfect Player from the Google Play Store.
  2. Add your M3U URL or Xtream Codes in the app.
  3. Enable screen mirroring on your Roku device by navigating to Settings > System > Screen Mirroring and setting it to "Always Allow" or "Prompt."
  4. On your Android device, go to Settings > Connected Devices > Cast and select your Roku device to start screen mirroring.

From Windows PC:

  1. Install VLC Media Player or any IPTV player on your PC and add the M3U URL or Xtream Codes in the player.
  2. Enable screen mirroring on Roku (same as the Android steps above).
  3. Open the Action Center on your Windows PC (bottom right of your screen) and click on "Connect" to choose your Roku device and mirror the screen.

3. Using Web Video Caster

  1. Install the Web Video Caster app on your Android or iOS device.
  2. Open the app and paste your M3U URL or Xtream Codes to load the IPTV content.
  3. Select your Roku device as the casting target in Web Video Caster and stream the IPTV channels to your Roku.

4. Using Private Roku Channels (Limited)

There were private Roku channels, such as IPTV Smarters, which allowed IPTV playback. However, most of these channels have been removed due to Roku's policies. You can check for any remaining private channels, but be cautious, as their usage might violate Roku’s terms of service.

Note: These methods are workarounds, as Roku doesn’t officially support IPTV streaming via M3U URLs or Xtream Codes.
